For the three years of annual reports for this company, I worked together with an art director who came up with the theme and direction of each book. It was my task to build the files with the correct content (including the very strictly SEC regulated financial section) to specifications. A printer was sourced, paper and inks specified, late night press checks to make sure everything was printing correctly, pages shipped to the bindery for perfect bound binding, then finally the finished pieces were shipped to the mailing house for distribution. Each of these annual reports has some interesting printing processes going on that may not be apparent here, including dry trap spot varnish, blind embossing, duotones, and more.
